INGREDIENTS

METHOD

  1. Mix the sugar and water together in a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Keep stirring and let it boil for 10 minutes. Do not boil for too long because the mixture will thicken on cooling. The syrup needs to be the consistency of maple syrup.
  2. Once cool, add the Spice Drops®. Mix well. Prick the top of the cake with a cocktail stick. Don’t use anything too large for pricking because it will spoil the look of the cake. Pour the syrup slowly over the cake so that the entire cake absorbs enough syrup without making it too wet.

TIPS:

You can add the lemongrass syrup to a clementine or orange cake and the cumin syrup to a carrot cake. Mint syrup drizzle on a nice sharp lemon cake is delicious.
